Scale of Infinity Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 2026-10-22

1. Who we are

Scale of Infinity is a maths puzzle game made by Quantum Leap Technologies (Pty) Ltd, South Africa (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the game and the services built into it collect, why, and the choices you have. It covers the Scale of Infinity apps for iPhone and iPad (App Store) and Android (Google Play). Our company privacy policy covers this website and our other services.

We are the responsible party under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the controller under the EU and UK GDPR for the information we handle. Questions or requests: info@qltech.co.za.

The game does not ask you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address or phone number to play.

2. What stays on your device

Most of what the game remembers is stored only on your phone or tablet and never sent to us:

  • your progress: stages cleared and stars, high scores, Daily Challenge results and streaks, lifetime records and the weight museum;
  • your settings: sound, haptics, chosen board skin, which tips you have seen, and the Daily Challenge reminder time;
  • your Sigma Stones balance and power-ups, kept in encrypted storage on the device.

Deleting the app deletes this information. The only exception is your Sigma Stones balance, which can be backed up to your own Apple or Google account (section 5).

We do not run our own servers for the game. What does leave your device goes to the service providers in section 3.

3. Services built into the game

The game uses these providers. Each receives only what it needs for its job, under its own privacy policy.

ProviderWhat it does in the gameWhat it receives
Google AdMobShows banner, interstitial and rewarded ads, and picks between ad networksDevice advertising ID (on iPhone and iPad only if you allow tracking), IP address and approximate location, device and app details, ad interactions
Unity AdsBids to fill ads through AdMobDevice advertising ID (on iPhone and iPad only if you allow tracking), an app-specific user ID, approximate (country-level) location, device details (model, language, screen, connection), ad views and taps, in-app purchase history, performance data
Firebase Analytics (Google)Tells us how the game is played (games started, stages cleared, power-ups used, ads watched) so we can improve itAn app instance ID, gameplay events, device and app details, approximate location
Firebase Crashlytics (Google)Reports crashes and errorsCrash reports, device state at the crash, an installation ID
Firebase Remote Config (Google)Delivers updated stage designs without an app updateAn installation ID and app version

Apple Game Center / Google Play GamesLeaderboards, achievements and cloud backup of your Sigma StonesYour scores, achievements and stones balance, linked to your Game Center or Play Games profile

We receive reports from these services (for example, how many players finish stage 5, or crash counts). These reports do not identify you by name.

4. Ads, tracking and your choices

The game is free because it shows ads. You decide how much of your information is used for them.

  • In the EEA, UK and Switzerland: before any ad loads, the game shows Google’s consent message, which lists our ad partners (including Unity Ads). You can accept, refuse, or choose by purpose. To change your mind later, open Settings → Privacy options in the game.
  • In US states with privacy laws: the game shows Google’s “My data preferences” message, where you can choose “Don’t sell or share my data”. Your choice applies to Google’s ads and is passed on to Unity Ads. To change it later, open Settings → Privacy options in the game, or email us.
  • On iPhone and iPad: the game asks permission to track you across other companies’ apps and websites (Apple’s App Tracking Transparency). If you say no, the advertising ID is not shared and ads are less personalised. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • On Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device’s Google settings under Ads.
  • Everywhere: rewarded ads (for an extra freeze or a continue) only play when you tap to watch one.

Advertising partners may use the information in section 3 to show ads that suit you and to measure them. Under some US state laws (for example California’s), this can count as “selling” or “sharing” personal information. We do not sell your information for money.

5. Purchases, backup and reminders

  • Purchases: Sigma Stones are bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles your payment details; we never see them. RevenueCat confirms the purchase so your stones are credited exactly once.
  • Backup: your Sigma Stones balance can be saved to Game Center saved games, kept in your iCloud (iPhone and iPad), or Google Play Saved Games (Android), so it survives a reinstall. It stays in your own Apple or Google account and does not move between the two platforms.
  • Leaderboards: scores you post to Game Center or Google Play Games, including Daily Challenge scores, are visible to other players under your profile name there.
  • Daily Challenge reminder: off unless you turn it on. It is a notification scheduled on your device; no notification service receives anything.
  • Sharing: when you tap Share, the game hands a picture and a line of text to your device’s share sheet. Where it goes is up to you.

6. Children, retention, security and transfers

  • Children: the game is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children and is not in Apple’s Kids category or Google’s Designed for Families programme. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). A parent who believes their child’s information was collected can email us and we will have it deleted.
  • Retention: information on your device lasts until you delete the app. Our providers keep what they receive for their own stated periods (for example, Firebase Analytics keeps event-level data for at most 14 months, and Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days).
  • Security: progress and stones are stored on the device, the stones balance encrypted; information sent to the providers in section 3 is encrypted in transit.
  • Transfers: these providers operate in other countries, mainly the United States. Where POPIA or the GDPR requires it, transfers rely on the providers’ standard contractual safeguards.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (POPIA in South Africa, the GDPR in the EEA and UK, and US state privacy laws), you can ask to see, correct or delete personal information about you, object to or restrict its use, take it with you, or opt out of its use for targeted advertising. You can also withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier use.

How to use these rights:

  1. Change ad and tracking choices yourself in the game and on your device (section 4).
  2. Delete everything stored by the game by deleting the app; to remove the stones backup too, delete the game’s saved data in Game Center or Google Play Games.
  3. For anything held by our providers, email info@qltech.co.za with “Scale of Infinity privacy” in the subject. Because the game has no accounts, include your device’s advertising ID (or Firebase app instance ID, if you can find it) so the request can be matched. We reply within 30 days and forward deletion requests to the providers in section 3.

You may also complain to a regulator: in South Africa, the Information Regulator; in the EEA or UK, your local data protection authority.

8. Changes and contact

When the game adds or drops a service, or uses information in a new way, we update this policy and its effective date, and the App Store and Google Play privacy details with it. Important changes are also announced in the app’s release notes.
